Moving-In Day!

Maureen has been so busy purchasing items for the home. Yesterday and today are moving-in day!

She started off the day, early in prayer with the Kenya Board of Directors.

Rehema House Board Members: Sammy Kaunga works with Compassion International as African Lead Leadership Development Program Specialist. Josca Ogola works with Colgate Palmolive as the Dental manager for East and Southern Africa. Jaki Mathaga works at Daystar University as Senior Resources Mobilization Officer. Carolyne Gathura works with Compassion International as the project director at Kariobangi project. Grace Mukunzi works with an individual company for strategic planning and counseling as a consultant. Maureen Owino works with Rehema House as the executive director.

Maureen has surrounded herself with some very Godly and wise people who are an amazing support system:

They met her very early to dedicate the maternity home to the Lord (I might have cried a bucket when I saw these pictures!):

This home is being started in prayer:

Staff interviews will be in a couple of weeks. Until a Housemother moves in, a sweet girl named Prisca will be living in the maternity home helping Maureen unpack. She is a total orphan, rescued by the work of Compassion and entering college soon!

We are so thankful for the volunteers and the many, many donors who are making this house of mercy a possibility! Thank you for loving mercy with us!

Maureen will continue to work hard the next few days getting the house ready for the staff and the girls. She's already gotten calls about 7 pregnant girls! There will be extensive interviews done in the next few weeks. Please, please take a moment to pray for everyone involved in this work.
