Our Miraculous Community Development Outreach

Our first outreach was held in a neighboring slum school. Children must pay to go to even public school in Nairobi and for those who are very poor, education is an extra sometimes. God spoke to Maureen about helping a school that is run solely by volunteer college students who teach 350 children all day long, right through lunch because the kids don't have food.
Our staff gave with sacrifice, each from their own pockets and added to our $175 budgeted amount for the outreach. With the money, they gave toilet paper, sanitary towels, bar soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes (donated by a Kenyan board member), charcoal for cooking, rice, cooking oil, pens, pencils and notebooks.

The also prepared food for 350 children (no small task) and set out to serve the kids on Friday last week.
And this is where the story turns miraculous! Instead of 350 children, 750 showed up!! Nearly the entire slum came and it took our staff and girls more than two hours of serving food! Maureen said that they were praying that God would multiply the food and He did!! Right before their eyes...there was even left over food to send home with people!
All of this was done for less than $200 American dollars!
Knowing that these precious children who patiently waited for hours to be served were going so sleep with full bellies is a tremendous blessing.
This school is run entirely by volunteers with no regular funding. The facility is in terrible condition.

We our excited to partner with this school and will be serving lunch quarterly. If you feel led to send a donation to this school, we would love to deliver it in your name.
God still does miracles!
